Bristol Children’s Summer Art Club 2016: Ages 7-11

15th – 19th August 2016; 9.30am – 3.30pm, early and late pick up available. Ages 7-11, £35 per day including all materials or £155 for the whole week (£20 discount) @ Horfield Quaker Meeting House, 300 Gloucester Road, Horfield, Bristol, BS7 8EW.

kids, art, craft, holiday, club, course, textiles, print, clayKeep the kids entertained over the holidays by exploring a variety of arts and crafts- mosaic, clay, textiles, print, drawing and more. A great way to spend the holidays having fun, making new friends & learning new creative skills.

As well as creating some fantastic items to take home there will also be the opportunity to take part in fun group art activities- creating drawings on the floor and walls, BIG art, tiny art, sand art, string art, junk art, outdoor art, mandala art, chalk art and more! The Horfield Quaker Meeting House has a lovely garden so (weather permitting) children are able to have their lunch outside, take inspiration from the plants and wildlife and create art outdoors. The workshop fee includes all materials and all art work can be taken home at the end of the day. Lunch is not included so please bring a packed lunch.


Bristol Children’s Summer Art Club: Ages 7 -11 2016

Monday 15th Aug- Mosaic & Print: £35 Design and create a personalized mosaic using ceramic tiles and grout. Next learn various print skills- mono-print, block print and colograph to create a printed piece of art.

Tues 16th Aug- Drawing and Painting Techniques, Canvas Art: £35 Learn a variety of drawing & painting techniques- how to draw from real life, tips on proportion and perspective, adding tone and shading and how to paint using acrylics. Use these skills to create a final piece of art on canvas.


Wednesday 17th Aug- Felting, Sewing & Stenciling:£35 Learn applique, sewing skills and stenciling to create a unique pencil case/ wash bag. Use brightly coloured merino wool, felting and embroidery techniques to create a felted badge.

Thursday 18th Aug- Paper Crafts & Ilustration: £35 Decorate a box frame using paper craft techniques. Next take inspiration from famous illustrators including Beatrix Potter and Quentin Blake. Learn how to develop characters and use watercolour techniques to create a ‘3D pop out’ illustration to be displayed in the frame.

Friday 19th Aug-  Clay Creations & Ceramic Decoration: £35 Use coiling techniques to create an organic pot taking inspiration from the work of Kate Malone (potter and judge of the great British throw down). Use decal transfers and ceramic pens to decorate a plate.

Full Week Art Club, 15th – 19th Aug: £155 (£20 discount) Children attending all five days will receive a sketchbook to document their creations and also get the chance to work towards a showcase of their work at the end of the week.

Parking: Unfortunately there is no parking on site, however there is unlimited parking on the adjacent residential side roads. On booking we will provide more information.

Bus Info: The Horfield Quaker meeting house is served by a great bus route. From Bristol City Centre, catch the  71, 73, 75, 76, 78 or 79 bus and ask to be set down at Nevil Road bus stop which is immediately outside the Meeting House. If traveling from the opposite direction (from Filton, Bristol Parkway, Cribs Causway etc) ask to be set down at Ashley Down Road bus stop – The Meeting House is on the opposite side of the road a little further down and is visible from the bus stop.
