After School Arts Award Craft Club (Ages 7+)
Children will have the opportunity to explore lots of areas of art and design such as clay, construction and textiles and produce some fantastic items to take home. Projects change each term and include seasonal and cultural activities. Craft club builds confidence, dexterity creative imagination and resourcefulness and encourages children to interact with new people in a relaxed and fun environment.
As well as taking part in fun creative activities, pupils aged 7+ are able to work towards Arts Award, a nationally recognized qualification run by Arts Council. Click here for more info. During the club children research local artists and designers, create their own work and hold an exhibition of their creations. The award can also be built upon once children get older counting as UCAS points.
Pupils will have the chance to question artists about their professions and work on their own creations based on the artists work. Children will be taught many new artistic skills during the project such as model making, set creation, animation, painting, pottery, sewing and design.
We have chosen artists and activities to inspire children and show that there are many creative jobs and skills that they could work towards in the future and that (visual) art is not only about painting and drawing.
All staff have a background in the arts and teaching and are all fully CRB checked. We also hold public liability insurance.

‘Funky Art House have provided an Arts and Craft Club at Saltford Primary School during the last year and we have been delighted with the service they have provided. They have established a great rapport with the children. They have delivered an interesting assortment of activities and importantly are always very reliable ’. Jane Kidd, Extended Services Co-ordinator, Saltford School.
Joshua (age 7) has come to craft club for several terms now. He loves it- one of the highlights of the week and gets upset if he misses even a few minutes. He’s not sporty so it’s great having an activity to do like this. I’d really recommend it‘ . Joshua’s Mum
