COVID-19 GUIDANCE MEASURES

In the light of the current COVID-19 Pandemic, Bath Artists’ Studios is committed to providing as safe and secure an environment as possible for all building users – studio holders, visitors, class members, tutors and contractors alike. It is our legal duty to comply with health and safety mea- sures as required by Government.

As an educational charity ensuring our classes can continue is a key priority of the organisation. To help this BAS has introduced social distancing measures and is asking all our tutors and class attendees to collaborate with us in maintaining a COVID secure space.

CLASS NUMBERS

Class numbers must be limited to the following numbers in the following areas.

* Teaching Room: 10 class members + life model and no more than 2 tutors. * Common Room: 5 class members + tutor/s
* Gallery 10 class members + tutor/s

PARKING

Class attendees may not use the BAS forecourt for parking. The exception to this is for disabled class members who may make use of the designated parking space by the Teaching Room lobby door.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

On arrival and departure from the building we ask that class attendees keep a two metre distance from each other.

Please use the hand sanitiser provided on entering and leaving the building.

ACCESSIBLE AREAS

Access for class attendees are restricted to use of the Teaching Room, Common Room and Teaching Room Lobby/WC areas.

Class attendees may only access areas of the building reserved for studio holders by arrange- ment.

FACE COVERINGS

BAS requires both tutors, class attendees and life models to wear face covering during sessions.

HAND WASHING AND HAND SANITISER

Hand sanitiser is provided in the Teaching Room lobby and we ask all tutors and attendees to make use of this on entering and leaving the building.

Hand sanitiser is also provided at the WC washbasins and sinks in the Teaching Room and Com- mon Room areas and at the entrance to the gallery.

Building users are asked to wash their hands according to health guidelines after use of WCs and handling of equipment and on entering and leaving the building.

TRACK AND TRACE

We request that all class members provide the tutors with their phone number for use in the event of a need to track and trace people who have come into contact with the COVID-19 virus.

Contact details are retained for no more than 21 days.

In compliance with GDPR requirements, all data must be kept confidential and it is not mandatory for class attendees to provide contact details.

REFRESHMENTS AND BREAKS

We regret that BAS will not be providing tea and coffee for visitors and class members whilst the pandemic persists. Instead we ask that class attendees bring their own refreshments including drinking vessels and utensils until further notice.

We recommend that classes stagger breaks to prevent gatherings of class attendees.

CLEANING

BAS’ cleaners visit the building twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and clean the Common Room, Teaching Room and WCs

We ask that tutors and class attendees assist us by thoroughly cleaning the teaching areas and any equipment and furniture used at the end of each session by taking the following measures:

* Wipe down chairs, easels, drawing boards, tables with sanitiser spray.
* Wipe down door handles with sanitiser spray
* Remove sheets for models
* Dispose of not cleanable materials and equipment such as charcoal and erasers
