Afternoon Glass workshop – Taster or Masterclass @ Bath Artists’ Studios
Friday afternoon’s 1.00pm – 2.30pm. One off class.

Summer Term– Friday Glass Fusing Classes – 2024

When:  The term dates for the Summer term are:- Friday 26th April, 3rd May, 10th May, 17th May, 24th May (May Half Term) Friday 7th June, 14th June, 21st June, 28th June, 5th July.

 

Description: An afternoon tailored to your needs. Either choose to come along as a beginner for a taster session or use this time to explore a more advanced skill or technique. Perhaps your visiting Bath for the weekend and are looking for a unique activity or you have worked with glass before and need a one off session or sessions to complete a project for a special gift or for an exhibition. Also a great way to try before commiting to the 10 week course on Friday mornings. 

Taster:- Learn about fused glass and all its wonderful possibilities!  You will learn the basics of cutting sheet glass as well as inclusions, stringers, frits, powders and more to create jewellery, hangings or seasonal projects.

The workshop is ideal for both beginners and those with some glass experience.

No prior experience is necessary. There will be lots of design ideas available.

Masterclass:- Been working with glass for a while or already attended a few workshops, use this time to learn a new skill or gain help with an individual project. Agreeded in advance you could learn kiln carving, freeze and fuse, circle cutting, stenciling, decals, fosil Vitra, small slumped or draped pieces or help with an individual project.

All glass is provided but if you wanted to make something bigger it will be charged accordingly.

The work will be fired and available to collect shortly after the course or I can post at an additional charge.

-Friday 1.00pm – 2.30pm.
1.5 hours, charged at £45 per session

How to book: Get in contact to discuss if your interested in a masterclass or taster session. Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Where: Fused Glass classes will run from our studio at Bath Artists’ Studios, The Old Malthouse, Comfortable Place, Upper Bristol Road, Bath BA1 3AJ.  The entrance to the studio is in the car park of Bath Artists’ Studios, I will wait outside and take everyone through. If your running late for any reason please don’t worry, just give me a call and I can come and collect you from the front of the building. Please phone 07954363467 if you have any problems. 

The afternoon workshops continues throughout the year. Please get in contact if you would like to book a slot not yet on the website.

Tutor: All tutors have many years of experience teaching art classes. Each tutor is fully CRB checked and has full public liability insurance. The tutor has a BA (Hons) Degree in Three Dimensional Design in Glass and a post graduate in Glass Techniques and Technology.

Parking: There is parking in Victoria Park which is just a short walk away. Alternatively Charlotte Street car park is approx 5 min walking distance from the studios. There are disabled parking spaces right outside the gallery at Bath Artists’ studios but unfortunately there is no other parking on site.
